A little bit of history...
Pete has always been passionate about training and working dogs. Originally from England, he started working with dogs from a young age.
In the 90’s he started a boarding kennel, which quickly developed to include a canine relocation centre. The next year, Pete was contacted by DAC (Defence Animal Centre – military dog training centre) to procure search and protection dogs thus strengthened his career in canine training.
During this time, he spent some time being a doorman, Pete, being first on the scene, witnessed the death of a young teen, caused from the use of ecstasy tablets. This tragic loss is what lead Pete to actively working to spread the anti-drug message.
In 2008, he moved to NZ where he spent time working on a preserve. He incubated and raised pheasants which lead to opening his own, the Waituna West Game Preserve and GameFarm NZ. Pete also became involved with the fantastic team at NZSAR. With the team and his search dogs, they are able to locate missing persons, reuniting families.
Alongside the opening of his game farm, he founded K9 Search, Detection Dogs. Driven to reduce the impact of drugs from an early age, Pete volunteers to spread the anti-drug message at local schools.
Spending much of his time training, refreshing and recruiting new members of his team, it’s no surprise they are on point!
Pete has now begun construction on opening a new boarding kennels and relocation centre at this home which he hopes to have operating later this year.
