Meet Chelsea
Chelsea is one of the Co-Owner/Operator's of K9 Search Detection Dogs.
Chelsea has been working with dogs since she was 2 1/2 years old, when she took over ownership of a heading dog pup (Brodi) that her father brought home as a logging companion!
Chelsea would watch Tux Wonder Dogs on TV when she was 4 years old. This soon developed into a passion for training and working dogs in a variety of disciplines.
At age 7, she started competing in agility with Brodi, and the rest is history.
Currently running a large team of heading dogs and working collies, she has always been keen to learn new skills to keep herself and her team busy. Chelsea has titled numerous dogs to Agility, Jumpers and Flygility Grand Champions, and works one of the highest qualified teams running in agility.
Chelsea's dogs have competed very successfully in canine freestyle, and occasionally in obedience, rally-O and sheepdog trials. They are well known throughout the country for their trick displays.
Several of her dogs have featured on New Zealand's Got Talent with their tricks, making it to the finals, and semi finals respectively.
In 2010 she travelled to England to compete in the IFCS World Agility Championships, returning home with a World Champion title, working her loaned dog in England against handlers from 22 other countries who all took their own dogs with them.
Needless to say, Chelsea shares Pete's same drive for getting every dog to reach their potential and will settle for nothing less than their best!
